Speaking Personally

Josh Marshall says the Stephen Payne story has
legs and he is probably right. On their surface the selective video bits show a business meal with a public relations campaign as the center of discussion and that is the spin the White House would like to see.  Never-the-less the PR  planner, Stephen Payne, is entwined with the White House and Department of Homeland Security.  He makes a $200,000 donation to the Bush Library part of the campaign and that's unfortunate because it will bring scrutiny to all the library's downers. This is all very reminiscent of the Abramoff scandal except   Payne's portfolio of pictures is better.  There is one of him hewing wood side by side with the President and another of skeet shooting (brave man) with the Vice President.
